Time to celebrate!
Consett’s clock is back. OK it was one of my 2012 New Year’s resolutions to get it back, but better late than never.
Actually it’s taken much longer than a year since I first set out on the trail – about the time Derwentside was disappearing which is nearly four years ago – but today I’m not whingeing about all the time it’s taken but celebrating. I’m grateful, too, to the county council’s economic regeneration team who joined me enthusiastically in ensuring we got it back – and sourcing the cash to do it.
