You may have missed it

but this is European Waste Reduction Week.

The Temple household’s latest addition to waste reduction (as well as waist reduction) has been to get into making soup by using up any excess vegetables from Sunday dinner, the only occasion when we are likely to have an over supply, but we’d be up for any other workable suggestions. Do you have any, or something else you’ve started to do to make your own life-style just a bit less wasteful.

It seems a pity to let an initiative that happens across 40 nations pass us by in Consett, so lets come up with some ideas of our own even though they won’t earn us a trophy like the official one below.

Owen Temple, who has been Consett North's Lib Dem Councillor since 2007, and Margaret Nealis are committed to working for local people in Consett, to make sure that their voice is heard at County Hall. As the county council takes a more and more centralised and "one-size-fits-all" approach, it is more important than ever for Consett to have campaigners who will stand up for this town.

Do you agree that a 3 hour time limit on the Albert Road Car Park is a good idea?
