Special offers as a thank-you

Thousands of people are to be offered a special ‘free weekend’ at visitor attractions in County Durham as a thank you for backing Durham’s UK City of Culture bid.

Durham Cathedral, The Bowes Museum, Crook Hall Gardens, The Botanic Gardens, Beamish Museum and the Oriental Museum are just some of the main line attractions taking part in a Durham Celebration Weekend on Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21.

Residents can pick up vouchers from next Wednesday at Tourist Information Centres and libraries allowing up to six people free entry to most attractions taking part.

A special ‘passport’ is also available specifically for either The Bowes Museum or Beamish Museum which admits two adults for the price of one.

Information about the weekend is available by visiting www.durhamcityofculture.co.uk
